American Idol judge gets $46m for insults - Blog News.

LOS ANGELES:

Being rude to Americans can be highly lucrative - and win you their trust. That, at least, is the lesson of Simon Cowell, the caustic judge on American Idol.

It has been revealed that he is paid $US36 million ($46 million) a year, or $US98,630 per day, for insulting wannabe pop stars.

"Screechy and annoying," was his verdict on 17-year-old Paris Bennett, before she was dumped from the competition.

News of Cowell's salary, revealed by Desperate Networks, a book by The New York Times reporter Bill Carter, comes as a survey finds that 58 per cent of viewers who vote for American Idol trust Cowell more than his fellow judges.

Only 26 per cent trust Randy Jackson, whose catchphrase is "Dude, you were the bomb!", and only 7 per cent pay attention to Paula Abdul, whose judgments often make little sense.

Australian / American Idol Blog - Reality T.V Forum.

Australia is getting ready for another season of Idol in 2006, as Kate De Araugo slips away into The Idol Black Hole, Leigh Harding still has Two songs kicking around in the Top 50 in Australias chart that are directed or marketed towards 8-12 year olds and bringing the punk and alternative social tags to a new low, a low of calm, friendly, kind, pretty, soft and childish in it's proper word.

The oldies are still kicking around Shannon Noel the only noteable mention as he is still able to reach the charts and staying fresh in the publics eye by singing the theme song to Australia's Biggest looser.

Where are we at in America? allI know of is Kelly Clarkson, so do help me out here.
